Namo Buddha Overview:
NamoBuddha located at north of Kathmandu, and popular destinations for day hikes & pilgrimage destination. Namo Buddha is a Buddhist pilgrimage site that is known for its beautiful monastery and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The hike to Namo Buddha typically takes about 3-4 hours round trip, depending on your pace and the route you take.

According to legends, King Maharath ruled a large town located between Panauti and a nearby town Sankhu. King Maharath has three sons, and the youngest Mahahridaya was of very benevolent nature. Once, the three princes were traveling and entered a jungle. They saw a Tigers with her 5 cubs. The Tiger was thin and weak. Prince Mahahridaya asked his brothers why the Tigres was so weak and they replied she was weak and thin due to the lack of food. The kind hearted prince thought it would be an act of great kindness if he could feed the tigers with his own body. so he started feeding the hungry tigers ripping off his body parts with branches of trees, without the knowledge of his brothers and died.

It is beleived that the Stupa at Namobuddha houses the remians of the kind hearted prince. The benevolent prince's soul went straight to the heaven and is believed to have reincarnated in Nepal's Lumbini. It is said that, when Lord Buddha arrived at Namobuddha after receiving enlightenment, he revealed to his disciples that he had sacrificed his life at the spot in the earlies incarnation and the remains were housed there. The place is now regarded as a holy pilgirmage and devotees offer worship and light oil lamps in reverence.

Namobuddha Municipality (Bakundebesi)
Dapcha village is a small, traditional Nepali newari village located in the Kavrepalanchok District of Nepal. The hike to Dapcha village is a bit longer, typically taking about 3 hours round trip. The route to Dapcha village takes you through beautiful forests and past rice terraces and small farms. Dhapcha has also famous for Krishna Mandir located here after Patan in Nepal.

Hiking Trail:
To get to the trailhead, you can either take a bus or hire a private vehicle from Kathmandu. The bus ride takes about 2 hours normal, depending on traffic. From the trailhead, you will follow a well-marked path called KAVRE BHANJYANG CHECK via through pine forests and small villages. The trail is mostly uphill and faming land but easy to follow.
Hiking TrailNamo Buddha Hiking Trail Along the way, you will pass by small farms, rice terraces, and traditional Nepali homes. You will also have the opportunity to see a variety of birds and other wildlife. The final destination is the Namo Buddha Monastery, which is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. From the monastery, you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the Majestic Himalayan mountains in the distance.
NOTE: It is important to be prepared for the hike, including bringing plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection. You should also wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

HOW TO GET THERE:
Follow the road FIRST via the RATNA PARK, Take either Dhulikhel Local Bus or Dolalghat or Barahabese Kordari Route Bus. DRIVE Upto Dhulikhel and follow the Bardibas route upto Kavre Bhanjyang Chowk(By Car 15 MIN OR ON FOOT 35 minutes or may be more) And follow uphill trekking trails until the reach Namo Buddha Monastery.

ROUTE FOR THE RETURN BACK OPTION
Return back Kathmandu via Dhapcha Newari Village to Bhakundebesi on foot continue and drive to Kathmandu . (By Car 1 hour or 1 & Half hour by local bus service). OR Continue to down hill towards the old village of Panauti or so on EITHER if you have overnight plan then follow the route Banthali village and next day drive to Khopasi and Kathmandu.

# 9.30 AM: GET DHULIKHEL BUS PARK.
# 10.00 AM: HIKING START FROM KAVRE BHANJYANG.
# 1.00 PM: REACH AT MUNDUM FARM STAY RESTAURANT & SHORT BREAK FOR OUR LUNCH.

# 3.00 PM: VISIT NAMO BUDDHA MONASTERY & CHANTING WITH MONKS | EXPLORE GOMPA | ENJOY MOUNTAIN VIEWS.
# 4.30 PM: DRIVE & RETURN BACK TO KATHMANDU - SERVICE END.
