SHORT & EASY HIKING Near Kathmandu Valley: 5N/6D

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
The Kathmandu valley Cultural Trekking Trail was promoted by the efforts of Nepal Environment and Tourism Institute Foundation so that even the tourist in a short visit in Nepal could also experience the fun of trekking and has since gained popularity among the tourist. The route is especially suitable for the domestic and foreign tourists who cannot trek in the alpine mountains or are on a short visit to Nepal. The route starts at Kathmandu Sundarijal and ends at Kavre Panauti or Changunarayan Temple Bhaktapur district.

TENTATIVE PLAN: The 3 days treks is approx 60 km and involves a total 20 to 24 hours walk in 3 days. The main attraction of the trekking route is the clean and unadulterated natural environments, views of picturesque villages, traditional culture of various native communities and the view of the Jugal range. The maximum altitude is 2500 meter above the mean sea level thus tourist of any age can join this route.

On the other hand, this trek is more economic and safe compared to other routes. One can enjoy the natural beauty and biodiversity from day one of the trek till the end. Despite being very close to Kathmandu, the route is rich in tourism activity and thus favorites among the foreign tourist. It is proven by the number of tourist that comes across the route and their experience.

TENTATIVE PLAN:
DAY 01: ARRIVAL: Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, meet assistance with our company representative and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight.

DAY 02: CITY TOUR: Today, After breakfast - Your city tour guide will take you sightseeing for full days program. During our sightseeing we visit the all 4 World Heritage Site. They are Pashupatinath Temple (A secret hindu temple) which is located at bank of Bangmati river in norther Kathmandu. The next point is Boudhanath Stupa (Buddhist Pagoda) It is very famous and important pilgrimage site specially for the Budhist religious.

After Lunch, we have still two more place remaining for sightseeing. So, we take first Patan Durbar Square which is situated at Lalitpur district some 8 km from airport and its is famous for the wooden craft architecture. Finally, we visit the Swyambhunath Stupa (Also known as Monkey Temple) which is stand small hillock in 4 km distance from main city Thamel. So, After complete our sightseeing tour, we return back to hotel for rest. Rest of the time for leisure so that enjoy your evening at Thamel market.

TREKKING:
DAY 03:TREKS BEGINS FROM HERE: The fabulous trekking route starts at Kathmandu’s Sundarijal. Sundarijal is the main entrance to the trek to Chisapani. Thus one must first reach Sundarijal from any part of the Kathmandu. Sundarijal is located at the foothills of the Shivapuri National Park some 15 km northeast of Kathmandu main city. One has to walk up and down for about 16 km from Sundarijal to reach Chisapani and it takes about 5-6 hours. However, it is understandable that the first day’s trek is generally difficult. The route extend along the Shivapuri National Park, Kolthupa, Mulkharka and Deurali reaches in altitude of 2500m along Bothang Bhanjyang and descends downhill. The journey along the up and down path surrounded by diverse natural beauty. The songs of chirping birds is simply an erathralling experience.

There are hotels and restaurant at Mulkharka that cater to the trekkers. One can also enjoy a birds eye view of the Kathmandu Valley from this place. Mulkharka is located a little above the Shivapuri National park and the only settlement ahead is Chisapani. It is therefore advisable to take the necessary dry food and Mineral water at Mulkharka. Chisapani located in Nuwakot district near the border with Sindhupalchowk distric t. It is the place that carries huge potential of tourism. There are some 8-10 local hotel and loges at Chisapani. The enchanting tourist spot at an altitude of 2194m is fast developing into a favorite destination among both International and domestic tourist. Chisapani is also famous for the view of the Jugal Himal range, Sunrise and Sunset. Tourist also can observe the Cheese factory located at Chisapani.

TREKKING:
DAY 04:Chisapani to Nagarkot: The second day’s trip is from Chisapani. It is better to hit the road right after the breakfast in the morning. Nagarkot is one of the most popular tourist destination near Kathmandu and is famous around the world. It is situated 2000m above the sea level. Nagarkot can be reached at the end of 6-7 hours trek from Chisapani at a distance of 20 km. The trek does not involve much ups and down. The main features of the trip is walk along lush greenery, viewing the majestic mountains. The row of snow capped mountains observed during the trip is incomparable to anything else in the world. A trek along wide paths catring across the green wilderness has the power to generate unimaginable pleasure in one’s mind and creates an unforgettable memory.

Moreover, the route highly praised by nature lovers, is suitable even for the elderly. The trek starts from Chisapani and passing through the Shivapuri National Park, Jhule, Chauki Bhanjyang, Jaharsingh Pauwa ends at Nagarkot. There are som 30-40 hotels and resorts operating at Nagarkot.

TREKKING:
DAY 05: NAGARKOT TO KATHMANDU: Nagarkot is much famous for the breathtaking view of the mountain ranges and the view of the sunrise. It is therefore better to embark on the trip to Bhaktapur via Changunarayan Temple (Nepal’s Oldest Temple). After experiencing the views, followed by breakfast at Nagarkot Hotel in the morning. The 12 km distance from Nagarkot to Bhaktapur will take about 2 to 3 hours downhills trails. The path involves moderate uphill and downhill climbs and traverse through forest, local village, and paddy field.

DAY 06: TRANSFER AIRPORT: After Breakfast, Transfer to Kathmandu airport for the final departure
