Short Brief About Kazi Kalu Pande:
Kazi Kalu Pande (His real name is Vamshidhar Pande) was born at Gorkha district on 1713 A.D. His father name was Kazi Bhimraj Pande. Kalu Pande was a politician and later join the army as a chief of commender of the Gorkhali force during the expansion of unification of Nepal by King Prithivi Narayan Shah. He killed in the first battle of Kirtipur in 1757 A.D. during the annexation of Kathmandu valley.

Facts: Kazi Kalu Pande Park:
Kazi Kalu Pande Park best known one of the historical & religious place with in city which lies corner of western part of Kathmandu at Chandragiri municipality. Offer surroundiing hills of Kathmandu valley including the Makawanpur and Dhading district border. Recently, Nepal Govt. has been making started view tower inside the park which is still under construction until the date. From here you'll see the entire Kathmandu city along side the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung mountain. There also are estabilized the tiny Manakamana Temple by Gorkha soldier near the park after winning the battle. Kazi Kalu Pande stone memorial cremation of great warrior (Samadhi) and his statue are often seen which is additional attraction for tourist.

HOW TO GET THERE:
There are multiple option to go Kalu Pande Park. Either take a via Naikap, Sitapaila or Balambu, all roads are black taps structure & well connected with upto Kalu Pande Park. However, If you wish to use foot step trail by walking through forest and village then Thankot, Nagdunga route is best option to hiking trail through Bad Bhanjyang village.

Kalu Pande Park Foot Trails:
Foot trails to travel Kalu Pande Park through Baad Bhanjyang, one among the straight forward and short hiking destination closed to Kathmandu city. Actual hiking begins from Nagdunga, (Thankot) which is gateway of entry and exit point of valley. Nagdunga may be a last border with Dhading district which is connected with Prithivi Highway. The journey begins from Kathmandu to Nagdunga via Kalanki, Naikap, Balambu, Satungal. There are frequently run local buses or taxi service available to reach Nagdunga (Approx 1 hr).

There are two option to follow the footstep route trail, Option one first, Motorable road. The gravel road quite easy rather then foot trail but bit longer as like hair bend shape. Thus, best choice follow ahead foot trails through village which is completely steep uphill trails until on top. During hiking, you'll find there local people working their agriculture field. Enjoy with nature, surrounding hills Chandragiri, Kathmandu city, green hills, pine & rododendron forest. Ganesh himal & Langtant lirung himal are often seen clear view from here if weather permited.

On top, Kalu Pande cemetery is another attraction for this trip. And, on the way return back to Kathmandu, visit, Indradaha Pond & Temple (Walk 10 minutes distance), & Switerzerland Park (Picnic Spot) & Bindyabasini Temple which is simply half an hour walk down. And also visit Balambu monastery before entry city area.
