Everest Base Camp Trek

A trek which takes you into the heart of the mountains and the culture of the Everest region to the foot of the great peak itself. Commencing in Lukla (Airstrip for Everest) you trek up to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazar). A day is spent here for acclimatization and just soaking up the atmosphere of this bustling village before heading on up through Tenboche (Visiting the great monastery) Pheriche, Lobuche village and finally to your highest camp at Gorak Shep. This is the jumping off point for the climb up to Kala Pattar (5545m) for spectacular views of Mt. Everest, and the walk in to Everest Base Camp. This really is breathtaking mountain scenery and is well worth the effort of getting there. It is a relatively short trek which will have you standing literally at the foot of the world's greatest peak.

Itinerary:

Day 1. ARRIVAL
Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Overnight.

Day 2: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING
Kathmandu Sightseeing and prepare for trekking permit. Overnight.

Day 3: KATHMANDU - LUKLA
We will fly early to the village of Lukla at 9,200 feet. Here we hire porters and trek a short distance to Pakding on the Dudh Kosi river. O/N

Day 4: PHAKDING - NAMCHE BAZAR
Pakding to Namche Bazaar(11,300 feet). We enter the park at Jorsale, cross the Bhote Kosi river and then climb steeply to Namche Bazaar. Namche is the main trading center for the Khumbu. O/N

Day 5: NAMCHE BAZAR REST
Khumjung (12,400 feet) and Khunde. To help with our acclimatization, we will spend a second night in Namche. During our second day here we will go to the Sagarmatha National park where we get our first views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. After lunch we hike up to Kumjung to see the famous "Yeti" skull and the gompa then to Khunde to see the Hillary Hospital. O/N

Day 6: NAMCHE BAZAR - TENGBOCHE
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (12,670 feet).An enjoyable walk down to the river at Phunki Thanhka to lunch next to water driven prayer wheels. A steep but short climb takes us to Tengboche Monastery through forests of blue pine, fir and black juniper. O/N

Day 7: TENGBOCHE - PHERICHE
Thangboche to Periche(13,780 feet).After an early breakfast, we tour the largest and most important monastery in the region, Thangboche. Following the Imja Khola we go through Pangboche and over a short hill to the small village of Periche. O/N

Day 8: PHERICHE - DINGBOCHE
Pheriche - Dingboche. Point 16,571 feet. we spend an an acclimatization day by climbing a spectacular point of rock above Dingboche. For most people, this will be the highest they have been up to this point. There are up close views of Taweche and Ama Dablam. In the distance one can see Island Peak and Makalu, one of the fourteen 8,000 meter peaks on earth of which Everest and Lhotse are members. O/N

Day 9: DINGBOCHE - LOOBUCHE
Dingboche to Lobuje (16,175 feet) After a short walk we'll climb the moraine of the mighty Khumbu Glacier. O/N

Day 10: LOBUCHE - EBC - GORAKSHEP
Lobuje to Everest Base Camp (17,192 feet) We will get an early start for our trek to Base camp. after about two hours we reach Gorak Shep. Another hour or hiking will take us to base camp. From here the view is one of the most spectacular anywhere in the World. You will be surrounded by the highest mountains in the World. Mt. Pumori with its steep ice walls and hanging glaciers seem so close that you could touch them. O/N

Day 11: GORAKSHEP - KALAPATHAR - PENGBOCHE
Gorakshep to Pangboche. Early morning hike to Kalapattar and descend down towards to Pangboche. O/N

Day 12: PENGBOCHE - KHUMJUNG
Pangboche to Khumjung. After viewing the gompa we will hike through Phortse to Lhumjung. O/N

Day 13: KHUMJUNG - MANJOO
Trek descend from Khumjung to Manjoo. O/N

Day 14: MANJOO - LUKLA
Manjoo to Lukla. Last night of the trek in a bustling town and a celebration dinner. O/N

Day 15: LUKLA - KATHMANDU
Early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure. O/N

Day 16: KATHMANDU REST AND SHOPPING
Today, you have free and rest day for your own explore market and shopping. Evening farewell dinner with our company staff at Nepalese culture program with typical nepalese food. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17: DEPARTURE
Departure Transfer to Kathmandu airport for the flight to onward destination. Service End.

Extension 1st Day: After breakfast scenic drive to Chitwan National Park upon arrival, rooms assigned and there will be a short briefing on the Jungle Activates and Resort facilities.

Extension 2nd Day: Wake up call followed by tea or coffee, and then proceed on a Nature Walk, This encounter on foot with the environment will introduce the main features of eastern Chitwan. Sal forest, open grassland and reverie jungle. Our guides will help you identify some species of birds, plants and other wildlife that you may encounter. Around 8:30AM breakfast will serve. After breakfast we process on Elephant-back safari: Guests will ride on an elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife you will be able to see the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours. Lunch will be serving around 1.00 PM: After lunch we have Canoeing Trip: A traditional dugout canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti river to view aquatic birds and the animals of the riverbanks. Back to resort through the Jungle. In the evening, Tharu Stick dance show: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances.

Extension 3rd Days : Early wake up call followed by tea or coffee, and then proceed on a Bird Watching after breakfast luggage down and departure around 9.30 AM to  Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Extension 4th Days: Sightseeing at Pokhara Valley:
Phewa lake - the second largest lake in the kingdom, roughly measuring 1.5 km by 4 km, is the center of all attractions in Pokhara. The enchanting lake is an idyllic playground. Brightly painted wooden boats and sailboats can be rented on reasonable cost around lakeside. The lake is neither deep (roughly 47 meters at most) nor particularly clean, but the water is warm and swimming is pleasant if you don't think about the probable pollution. The eastern shoreline of the lake, popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, consists of seemingly endless strip of lodges, restaurants, bookshops and souvenir shops. One of the fascinating parts of lakeside is the splendid view of the mountains, especially when the still water reflects the peaks, creating a double image.

Early morning, Drive to Kathmandu by regular tourist coach. Overnight at hotel.
