Tibet Entry Permit

Tibet Entry Permit is the basic line to enter into Tibet. When you change for the boarding passes at the airport, you need to show both your passport and permit. With TTB permits, you can travel in Lhasa region including Lhasa city, Yumdrok Yuntso, Ganden, Tsuphu, Namtso, Drigung Til and Reting. TTB is the abbreviation of Tibet Tourism Bureau. It is obtained through tour operators as part of arrangements for travel.

Tibet Visa / Permit

Passport: A traveler should bear a passport with validity remaining no less than six months. Make sure that it has plenty of blank pages for visas, entry and re-entry stamps and extensions. Besides, holding other IDs like student card or driving license will be an advantage. Loosing passport in Tibet is very bad, as you have to go to Beijing to get new one.

Visa / Travel Permit:
You require Chinese visa plus Tibet travel permit. There are 2 kinds of Chinese visa.

Individual Visa: In principle, this kind of visa is meant for travelers to main land of China. But as long as you have Tibet Travel Permit, Individual visa is good enough to travel to Tibet.

Individuals Client who want a flexible or independent kind of trip or private trip are recommended to have Individual visa. Who can obtain Chinese Visa from Chinese Embassies in Nepal. we process travel permit through our Tibetan counter part in Lhasa.

Group Visa:
This is to inform that all visitor who intend the visit Tibet from Nepal that do not apply Chinese visa from their own countries. Because individual chinese visa will be cancelled while issueing group visa from Chinese embassy at Kathmandu. However, if clients wish to travel Tibet via Mainland China. In that case, Clients should have issue Chinese visa first by yourself in your countries and send it through mail to us your scan passport copy alongwith Chinese visa copy for issue the Tibet travel permit.

Documents required to apply:
Get TTB permits easily with US. Simply send us the copies of your passports, and tell us your occupations.

Alien Travel Permit (PSB)
Alien Travel Permit is granted by the PSB for travel to certain areas such as Gyantse, Sakya, Tsetang, Shigatse and EBC etc. Lhasa PSB doesn’t issue travel permits to individuals. You need to get the PSB permits through agencies. It is regulated by the official that you can only get the Alien Travel Permits through booking a tour with agencies.

Areas require PSB permits:
Tsetang: all the places you will visit such as Samye, Yumbulhagang, Trundruk etc.
Shigates: Sakya, Mt. Everest, Rongbuk Monastery
Gyantse: Pelkhor Chode Monastery, Kubum Stupa
Ngari: all the places you will visit such as Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasorovar etc.
Nyingtri: all the places you will visit such as Draksumtso, Pomi etc.
Chamdo: all the places you will visit such as Chamdo, Riwoche etc.

How to get the PSB permits:
The biggest difference for applying a PSB with a TTB is that we can help you to apply a TTB without your passport, just a copy one is okay. But for obtaining the PSB, your original passport is a must! Please check below to see what is the common procedure to get a PSB: Usually, upon your arrival in Lhasa and check in the hotel on the first day, our tour guide will ask for your original passports and Tibet Permits, and go to the Public Security Bureau to apply on the second day, you can get the PSB at the same day. You don’t have to come in person.

Military Permission/Permit
Military Permission is required if you want to visit the border areas such as Mt Kailash and eastern Tibet also require a Military Permit (Permission) and a foreign-affairs permit, i.e Alien Travel Permits (PSB). All these should be arranged by the tour agency if you book a tour. For the special overland tour to Tibet from Sichuan, Yunnan, Xinjiang and Qinghai, Military Permission is a must.

Nyingtri: all the places you will visit such as Draksumtso, Pomi etc.
Chamdo: all the places you will visit such as Chamdo, Riwoche etc.

Normal Visa cost: US$ 72 Per Person for Others Countries (1 Week Process)

Visa Cost: This visa cost valid for only Serbia Citizen
Normal Visa cost: US$ 60 Per Person for Others Countries (1 Week Process)
Urgent Visa Cost: US$ 72 Per Person (4 Days)
Top Urgent Visa Cost: US$ 78 Per Person (Same Day Issue)

Visa Cost: This visa cost valid for Pakistan / Albania / Bulgaria / Bosnia and Herzegovina / Micronesia / Maldivers / Montenegro Citizen
Normal Visa cost: US$ 0 Per Person for Others Countries (1 Week Process)
Urgent Visa Cost: US$ 15 Per Person (4 Days)
Top Urgent Visa Cost: US$ 21 Per Person (Same Day Issue)

CANCELLATION'S:
Due to the Travel policy the Chinese Authorities, the following cancellation charges will be applicable on Individual tour departures.
21 days before commencement US$ 100.00 Per Person
20-10 Days 35% of the tour cost.
09-07 Days 60% if the tour cost.
Less then 06 days no refund on the tour cost.

BOOKING PROCEDURE:
To enter Tibet visa has to be obtain in Kathmandu for which the minimum time taken in 05 working days. In such case we must be in prior receipt of details of passport no. date of Birth, name, Nationality, PP validity and occupation along with Advance payment.

NOTE:
The Tibet Tourism Bureau has made a new regulation effective from 1998 that a minimum of 05 participants are required for Tibet Tours. If less than 05 pax. Schedule to operate will have to join on group joining basis.

Important:
We always endeavor to make your journey smooth and pleasant as possible. However, the entire program in Tibet is conducted strictly under the rules and regulation of Tibet tourism bureau. Therefore both company (Nepal & Tibet Agent) shall not be responsible for any changes in the itinerary due to unavoidable circumstances such as Govt. restriction, land slide, road blockage, flood snow political unrest cancellation of flight, delay, sickness or accident, any extra cost including there shall be borne by customer.
