Mount Kailash

From the advent of Hindu religion for the last 5000 yrs, it is believed that the sacred rivers originate from the center of the universe which is Mount Kailash and Mt Kailash also known as Sumeru Parbat is the home of Lord shiva and indeed the Indus, Satlej, Gangas via Karnali and the Brahmaputra river begins at this most holy spot. Not only is Mt. Kailash important for Hindus but Buddhist, Jains Banpo, Sai Baba followers and all AMU followers also give high significance to this Holy land.

Kailash Parbat 22,000 ft, from the sea level is a rock pyramid with snow and is located in scenically rich area of western Tibet. it lies between the himalayan ranges, karakuram ranges and Naga Parbat. The trek great mountain ranges of Asia.

From here one can see into Afghanistan, Pakistan and Hindustan (India) & Nepal. Often referred to as the mountain of swastika, an ancient sign of good luck. It is considered most auspicious to make a religious pilgrimage around the 52 km circuit.

In fact, the entire region of kailash is of important religious significance which includes the two turquoise blue pristine high lakes of Manasarovar and Rakshes Tal. Mt. Kailash also offers many opportunities for nature lovers as large numbers of unusual species of birds, wildlife and flora -fauna can be found here.
