The high
remote Tibet like regions of Ladakh & Zanskar are arid as they
lie north of the main Himalaya range and are thus protected from
the monsoon.
From Kathamndu you will fly Delhi then to Leh, capital of Ladakh
and spend time becoming a acclimatized and taking in the sights
of this amazing region with its ancient monasteries and palaces.
You then travel by road into Zanskar, one of the wildest and
most remote part of the Himalayas. This is where that rarest of
creatures, the snow leopard, is still sometimes have seen,
you'll spend some days exploring Padum, capital of Zanskar,
before heading up to the famed Khardung la pass at 5578m the
highest motor able road in the world. you then head back to Leh
for the return flight to Delhi. Domestic mountain scenery in
this west-east section of the massive Tibetan plateau, ancient
Buddhist cultures and some mild yet rewarding walking are the
highlight of this trip. |

Rarig, a prosperous farming village.

Zanskar Sumdo, where we camp by the
shore of the raging Barai Nallah.

crossing the Barai Nallah by cable
bridge, we trek to Shingo La base
camp. |

Rest
and acclimatization day.

Day 11
|
Trek
over 5080 metre Shingo La to the
high pasture of Lakang.
|
|
|
|
|
Day 12 |
Continue downvalley in the shadow of
the massive arrow-shaped Gumbaranjon
(peak) to Kargyak, one of the
highest villages in Zanskar.

|
|
|
Day 13
|
Trek to
the village of Testha.
|
|
|
|

Day 14 |
Trek to
Purni, where the Kargyak and Tsarap
rivers merge to form the mighty
Lingti Chu. |

Day 15 |
Trek
to Phugtal gompa, one of the world's
most spectacular sights. Its
location, spilling down a sheer
cliff face from the mouth of a
massive cave, is a staggering one.

Trek to
the friendly village of Tangtse, at
the base of the gorge leading to
Phirtse La. |

Day 17 |
Trek to
Shingsaw, the base camp for our pass
crossing. |

over Phirtse La (5350 metres) to
base camp. |

Chumik Marpo. |

Sarchu Serai, on the banks of the

Trek to
Kilang Sarai, where we meet the
Manali to Leh military road.

Travel
by jeep to Keylong, the capitol and
administrative center of Lahaul.

Continue by jeep over Rhotang Pass
to Manali. |

Rest
day in Manali. |

Day 25 |
Jeep to
Kullu, then a spectacular flight to
Delhi, on arrival check in at Hotel.
Stay overnight at Hotel.

Depart-Delhi, transfer to airport
for flight to onwards journey. |

Accommodation on twin sharing basis
as per Tour category (standard/Deluxe), full board meals, Ground
transfers. Sightseeing as per Itinerary with English speaking
guide, Entrance fees and permits.
On Treks Camping Equipment consisting of Two men-tent &
mattress, Freshly cooked meals, Dinning & Toilet tents, Ponies
and trek staffs. A minimum of 2 person is required for obtaining
permit to trek in Sikkim. |

GETTING THERE:
Fly from Kathmandu to Delhi and Overnight at 1 Night at Delhi
hotel and next morning flight to Leh. The other option would be to arrive by train
from New Delhi to Pathankot and drive to Leh. |

ENTRY FORMALITIES:
All foreigners intending to visit Leh has to avail of an
Indian visa which can be obtained at any Indian Embassy or
Mission abroad. and trekking permit is necessary which is also a must can
be obtained Delhi or Leh. |
