Nepal become internationally famous after Sir Edmund Hillary and Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa climbed Mt. Everest on 29th May 1953, hence Nepal has become an established adventure tourism destination in the international map of tourism. Since 1950 Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Everest and other peaks lying in the Himalaya range have been successfully climbed by more than 2000 climbers from around the world. Expeditions in the Himalayas have made trekking famous in Nepal although trekking started relatively late.
