Day 01
|
Delhi, Explore Old Delhi's narrow laneways and weave
through lively Chadani Chowk, amid the aroma of piping
hot samosas. |
Day 02/03
|
Leh, in Lakakh's capital, browse traditional wares,
sample local produce and visit Leh Palace. |
Day 04
|
Likir, Follw the sacred mani stone walls of Phyang
to a little -visited Buddhist monastery or Gompa of
the Kagyupa order. |
Day 05/07
|
Lamayuru, Out three day trek allows the opportunity
to witness some of the most rugged. yet beautiful, moon-like
landscapes in the world. Monasteries and ruined forts
line our path as we continue on to Lamayuru, where Ladakh's
oldest sandstone gompa perches precariously on a cliff. |
Day 08
|
Alchi, Set in the haven gorges of the indus River,
Alchi is home to exuberantly painted shrines and the
well preserved frescoes of Alchi Monastery. |
Day 09
|
Stok, The royal family still resides in the Stok
Palace-check out the fabulous period costumes, royal
jewellery and exquisite sacred thangka paintings. |
Day 10/11
|
Hemis, The 17th century gompa in Hemis is Ladakh's
most auspicious and is the state of the annual Hemis
festival, where monks celebrates festivities with delightful
Charm performance or Tantric mask dances. |
Day 12/15
|
Manali, Famous for apples, shawls and trekking.
the popular resort of Manali sits below snow-capped
peaks and wooded slopes. |
Day 16
|
Mandi, Relax in the faded colonial char of the former
raja's palaces. Our home for tonight. Explore the sunken
market, climb to the Kali temple or walk to the Beas
River past mystical Shiva Shrines. |
Day 17/18
|
Dharmasala, The hilltop home of the Tibetan spiritual
leader, the Dalai Lama, is full of monasteries, prayer
flags and monks in their crimson robber |
Day 19/20
|
Delhi, Descend back onto the plains to board a train
bound for Delhi. |
