Leh Ladakh Trek

 
Itinerary
Day 01 Fly to Delhi and Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 LEH - Visit to Lamayuru monastery – camp at Lamayuru.
In fact Lamayuru Monastery is one of the oldest Monastery of Ladakh enriched with many many old statues in it’s of its shrines. There is a unique cave in the main prayer hall in which a great Buddhist monk called Naropa medicated.
Day 03 LAMAYURU TO WANLA. 3-HOURS
Ascending to the top of Prinkiti La (3726m) is about 1 hour easy walk and then for another 2 hours through the gorge and beautiful villages like Shila and Wanla camp for the night in Wanla besides the Chila and Wanla streams.
Day 04 WANLA TO PHANJILA – 3 HOURS
Walking up to Phanjila is about 3 hours through the narrow valley and you passing through some of the small & beautiful villages.
Day 05 PHANJILA TO HINJU. 4-HOURS
This day you climb a bit and then in about 2 hours you reach village Hinju and the camp site at the western side is about 1 hour gradual walk.
Day 06 HINJU TO SUMDO CHENMO. 5 HOURS
Cross Konski La (4920m) early morning because the last one third of the pass is very steep. The climb to the top is a bit hard yet you are highly rewarded by the waving prayer flags on the top of this pass and from where viewing down you sees the villages on the either side of the pass. Thereafter walking down, you reach the summer pasture land of Sumda Chenmo stop here to enjoy a cup of freshly prepared Yak curd and see the way of living of the people in this nomadic land. Descend down for about 1 hour to reach camp side.
Day 07 SUMDA CHENMO TO SUMDA CHUNGTSE. 6 HOURS
Walking for an hour through the narrow valley and then going north direction, you climb Sumda pass, a very easy one. From the top to Sumda Chung is easy 1 hour descend. Sumda Chungtse has a very ancient temple or Gonpa which was founded by Lama Lotsava Rinchen Zangpa around a thousand year back. The gonpa has world famous wall to wall painting written on them.
Day 08 SUMDA CHUNGTSE TO ALCHI DOK. 5 HOURS
Today you walk for about 5 hour. After a gradual walk of four hours you reach the top of Staks Pi La (5250m) from where you sight magnificent view of Ladakh range to the north and Zanskar range to the south. From the top to Alchi Dok is a gradual descend of about 1 hour.
Day 09 ALCHI DOK TO ALCHI. 2 HOURS
Visit Alchi Dok (a summer nomadic settlement) in the early part of the morning and then keep walking for about 2 hours to reach Alchi. Thereafter visit Alchi Monastery enriched by many shrines having to see the world class painting on each of these walls. It is said that the three monasteries like Mangu, Sumda Chungtse and Alchi were built and blessed by Lama Lotsava Rinchen zangspo on the same day. Consequently visit of all the three monasteries is one day is a unique opportunity and a special event for any Buddhist.
Day 10 Drive to Leh and overnight at hotel
Day 11 Early morning flight to Delhi and rest of the day explore Delhi City.
Day 12 Departure transfer to airport for your onward destination


TOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Accommodation on twin sharing basis as per Tour category (standard/Deluxe), full board meals, Ground transfers. Sightseeing as per Itinerary with English speaking guide, Entrance fees and permits.
On Treks Camping Equipment consisting of Two men-tent & mattress, Freshly cooked meals, Dinning & Toilet tents, Ponies and trek staffs. A minimum of 2 person is required for obtaining permit to trek.
