 Sikkim:

Welcome to Sikkim - Tranquility Supreme: The enchanting little state of Sikkim lies in the eastern end of the mighty Himalayas flanked by Bhtan, Nepal and Tibet on it's east, west and northern borders respectively.
Sikkim lies nestled under the protective shadow of its guardian deity, Mount Knachenjunga (8598m). the third highest mountain in the world. Conveniently accessible by rail air and road, this little Himalayan jewel is fast becoming a favorite gateway for tourists in recent years.
The area of Sikkim is 7,096 sq. kms and measures approximately about 110 kms from north to south and about 64 kms for the east to the west. The elevation ranges from 224 mts to over 8590m about se-level which gives Sikkim it's incomparably range of flora and fauna the majestic mountain peaks, the dense foothill forests, the frothing rivers and the lush paddy fields make this 22nd state of India a hotbed of bio-diversity not found anywhere else.

Dzongri Trek

Day 01 Pick Up From Bagdura / Bhadrapur Airport Transfer to Gantok Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 Visit do drul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Rumtrek Monastery & Handicraft Center.
Day 03

Transfer from Gangtok to Yuksom (1,780m.) through the beautiful villages and hills- meet our trekking crew and overnight in Camp/Lodge

Day 04

Yuksom -- Tsokha
Trek begins here. This trek takes you through dense verdant Semi Tropical forest occassionaly crossed by Crystal clear rivulets and cascading water falls up to Praig Chu. After lunch a steep climb for an hour brings you to Tsokha - a small Tibetian hamlet from where the first glimpse of the mountains can be seen. O/N at trekkers huts/tents. Approx. Alt. 3050m & Distance 16kms/6 hours
Excrusion of Dzongri alt.4,500m.O/N at camp.

Day 05 Dzongri -Halt. Dzongri La alt.4,500m. (Acclimatization) Halt.
Day 06 Trek back to Tsokha. O/N at camp.
Day 07 Trek back from Tsokha to Yuksam. Transfer to hotel. O/N at Yuksam.
Day 08 Drive Yuksam to Darjeeling via Pelling. On the way visit Pemayangtse monastery.Transfer to hotel. O/N at hotel.
Day 09

Early morning visit Tiger Hill for sunrise. On the way back visit Yiga Choling Monastery. After breakfast visit the Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Zoological Park, Tibetan Self Help Centre and a Tea garden. O/N at hotel.

Day 10 Drive to Bhadropur / Bagdogra Airport for onward journey.

TOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES:

Accommodation on twin sharing basis as per Tour category (standard/Deluxe), full board meals, Ground transfers. Sightseeing as per Itinerary with English speaking guide, Entrance fees and permits.

On Treks Camping Equipment consisting of Two men-tent & mattress, Freshly cooked meals, Dinning & Toilet tents, Ponies and trek staffs. A minimum of 2 person is required for obtaining permit to trek in Sikkim.

ADDITIONAL COST:
Air fare, Expenses of personal nature, Travel Insurance and re-entry visa.

GETTING THERE:
Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar /Bhadrapur (Nepal) and transfer by road or fly from Delhi /Calcutta to Bagdogra (India) and transfer by road. The other option would be to arrive by train from any part of India to New Jalpaiguri.

BEST SEASON:
Mid February to late May and Mid September to late December.
CLOTHING:
During Summer-light jackets & rain gears. In winter-down gears at high altitude.

ENTRY FORMALITIES:
All foreigners intending to visit Sikkim has to avail of an Indian visa which can be obtained at any Indian Embassy or Mission abroad. The inner state permit which is also a must can be obtained along with the visa.
