The high
remote Tibet like regions of Ladakh & Zanskar are arid as they
lie north of the main Himalaya range and are thus protected from
the monsoon.
From Kathamndu you will fly Delhi then to Leh, capital of Ladakh
and spend time becoming a acclimatized and taking in the sights
of this amazing region with its ancient monasteries and palaces.
You then travel by road into Zanskar, one of the wildest and
most remote part of the Himalayas. This is where that rarest of
creatures, the snow leopard, is still sometimes have seen,
you'll spend some days exploring Padum, capital of Zanskar,
before heading up to the famed Khardung la pass at 5578m the
highest motor able road in the world. you then head back to Leh
for the return flight to Delhi. Domestic mountain scenery in
this west-east section of the massive Tibetan plateau, ancient
Buddhist cultures and some mild yet rewarding walking are the
highlight of this trip. |

Leh city, including the
sixteenth-century palace and Gompa.

Tour of
Shey and Tikse gompas, and Stok

Day 05

Visit
to Basgo fort and Alchi gompa, a
remarkably well preserved 11th
-century gompa and one of the
artistic treasures of the Himalaya.

Day 06
|
Drive
to village of Chiling, from where we
begin the trek. A short ways from
Chiling we step onto the frozen
Zanskar river for the first time.
Trek to Tilat Do. Overnight in cave.

Walk
upstream on the ice to Bakhula.
Overnight in cave. |

Day 08

Walk
through tremendous canyons,
inaccessible in any other season, to
Nyarak. Overnight in cave.

Continue on the frozen river to
Sarakdo. Overnight in cave.

Hanuma, the first village and most
likely the first people we have seen
since leaving Chiling. Overnight in

to Pishu, another small village.

to Karsha, site of the largest
monastery in Zanskar. Overnight in

Zanskar and the goal of our journey.

Rest
day to explore Padum and the
surrounding valley. |

to local villages and gompas,
including the kingdom of Zangla. |

Helicopter over the main Himalaya
range to Manali. A spectacular
one-hour ride flying over the main
Himalaya range. |

Manali. Stay overnight at Hotel.

from Kullu to Delhi. |

as per Tour category (standard/Deluxe), full board meals, Ground
transfers. Sightseeing as per Itinerary with English speaking
guide, Entrance fees and permits.
On Treks Camping Equipment consisting of Two men-tent &
mattress, Freshly cooked meals, Dinning & Toilet tents, Ponies
and trek staffs. A minimum of 2 person is required for obtaining
permit to trek. |

GETTING THERE:
Fly from Kathmandu to Delhi and Overnight at 1 Night at Delhi
hotel and next morning flight to Leh. The other option would be to arrive by train
from New Delhi to Pathankot and drive to Leh. |

CLOTHING:
During Night heavy woolen sweeter or down jackets. In day light
jackets and & rain gears. |

ENTRY FORMALITIES:
All foreigners intending to visit Leh has to avail of an
Indian visa which can be obtained at any Indian Embassy or
Mission abroad. and trekking permit is necessary which is also a must can
be obtained Delhi or Leh. |
